“And I will not answer that, I’m sorry. But since this is the last time you ask, I suppose that means you won’t be wasting your breath anymore,” he pointed out.

“Then your presence is a danger to my existence, and...”

“The terms of our contract forbid disclosure of personal credentials,” Garrett cut her off with an uncharacteristically formal tone. “I am sure, as a well-regarded contractor, you are entirely aware of the political distress that can be caused by discerning the identity of employers.”

“Then I will terminate the contract,” she threatened.
