Odin Makes Enamel Pins

Because I already have way too many irons in the fire, I figured now would be the most appropriate time to add another one to the forge.

From last week’s post, you know that I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with enamel pins. And because of this I have decided to embark on my own adventure of creating them. Thus the Curiosity Kitten was evoked from the depths of my squishiest brainmeats:

The art was drawn by a dear friend HYDRAJEN, who took pity on my lack of art skills. You can find their spooky creations HERE

and Here

The concept came from my experiences both as a human and a nonbinary person being socially pressured to answer questions I am not comfortable with. Being vilified for saying no because someone gave me big puppy eyes and was “just curious.”

The fragments of ideas kept bouncing around in my head until eventually the symbolism came together. It’s a play on words of “Curiosity killed the cat.” So, we let the kitten sleep. It’s no coincidence that they are snuggling in a quilt with the same colors and pattern as the trans flag.

But, enamel pins are expensive and I have decided to crowdfund the initial run of this so that I can share this message with others who have had similar experiences.

There are Stickers as well!

I am also raising funds to donate to Trans organizations, such as the Trevor Project, Trans Legal Defense and Education Fund, and my local branch of Planned Parenthood, as well as my own transition surgery.

So if you or someone you know would benefit from this message, consider supporting the campaign, or sharing it on social media so that it can spread further.
